Baby Steps

It feels like I've been away forever. This week, I'm going to start visiting blogs again! I'm sure I've missed a lot.

Update on me:
  1. Current project #1 is at 52k and I still plan to be done by the end of October or beginning of November.
  2. Current project #2 is super-secret, but I am so excited about it! Excited enough to interrupt progress on #1 in order to work on it. I'm hoping I can tell you about it sometime in the next few months, but for now ... shhh.
  3. Nearly-ready-to-submit project is also on hold, because project #2 is .... well. Exciting.
  4. And, finally ... that project I was in love with over the summer (the one set in Ireland) was halted at 100 pages because of all this other stuff, and someday I will return to it with the passion it deserves.
  5. Yes, I am aware that 1-4 are probably confusing, irritatingly vague, and annoyingly coy. Sorry.
  6. My day job is still intense, but we're trying to hire an Assistant Director in the next month or so, and that will lighten my load somewhat.
  7. I stand by my assertion that Fall 2011 is going to be awesome.
Now ... please update me on how you're doing. Any news I've missed that you'd like to share? Any must-read posts to which you'd like to direct me?

Here are some I recommend: Lydia's Medical Monday post and Laura's Mental Health Monday post!

  1. Nice to have you back. Me? I'm in the process of blasting out query letters. Oh, I did have a dream over the weekend that I was surrounded by agents who, after my self-published book became a best seller, was vying for me to be their client. Hmm?

  2. How wonderful to have 4 projects going at once, and one of them so secret you can't tell us about it! Can't wait for the news to break!!

As for me, I'm waiting on an editorial letter; I just submitted a completed project to my agent, and I'm planning revisions on an old project that I'm excited to implement.

Best of luck working on all 4 projects while keeping up with the day job. (Darn those day jobs!)

  7. Glad to see you're making so much progress! But so wicked to tease us like that! LOL. This super secret project sounds exciting indeed!

My agent is about to send off my literary ghost romance on sub. So, I'm starting to feel nervous again. LOL

  9. We missed you! It's wonderful that you have so many great story ideas. Follow them, wherever they go. We'll be here when you get back.

I've been hunting down the half-baked ideas of my last revision. Next: emotional mapping.

I'm also doing my snowflake to prepare for NaNoWriMo. No more pantsers around here. :)

PS. I swear your blog hates me. It never lets me sign in with google.

  22. Welcome back! Wish I could say I've been half as productive as you writing-wise. At least I'm actively on the hunt for ideas now instead of hoping they'll wander over to me.
